The dog slowly made its way back, feeling guilty for its actions. It had only wanted to play with the cat, but now it had caused trouble. As it reached its house, the old man was waiting at the door. He looked concerned as he saw the dog's downcast eyes.

He knelt down and gently pet the dog, telling it that everything was okay. The dog leaned into the man's touch, grateful for his understanding. From that day on, the dog learned to be more mindful of its actions and to think before chasing after the cat. It also made sure to stay within the safety of its own yard, where it could play without causing any harm. The cat and the dog eventually became friends, and they would often be seen napping together in the sun.
